Vibrant Odyssey

A coveted destination if ever there was one, it embodies in itself the ultimate travel experience. This Ionian island is inseparable from Ulysses, the hero of Greek mythology who took more than ten years to reach his home, through a journey narrated in Homer's Odyssey. Imagining its perfume means overcoming obstacles, creating the formula capable of charming creatures, divinities and chimeras, but above all of ravishing a cherished skin, to better rediscover it. Land in sight! The sea spray heckles the air, gives the energy necessary to complete the crossing. It needs the invigorating force, the inviting song of citrus fruits. Oils of Italian bergamot, bitter orange and Italian mandarin. A first flight, tonic and green. The slight relief of the island becomes clear. With temperament and conviction, here are the spices and berries: black pepper oil from Madagascar, pink pepper, Timut pepper oil from Nepal, juniper berries. The emotional memory of the reunion to come is celebrated with fruits and flowers: blackcurrant bud absolute, redcurrant accord, raspberry note, Egyptian jasmine absolute. The earth is firm again and the joy of reconnecting with this vegetal and woody emotion that says homecoming. A rounder, more caressing feeling emerges. "I have kept such a vivid memory of the smell of fresh almonds in summer, very much linked to holidays and carefree happiness . I love the crunchy, green natural feeling, the slightly floral facets and also the delicate milky sensation. I have enjoyed dearly working on this perfume trying to recreate this strong memory of happiness and joy."

A Rare Encounter

I have come across Memo Paris in short videos posted on the web and always wondered how different it will be compared to other brands. I had walked into Galleries Lafayette fragrance department and found the Memo selection a little over-whelming and did not really get a good introduction into the scents. A rare chance encounter on the streets of Paris - when I was strolling around, I chanced upon the only Memo store and walked in. The girl that greeted and helped me was astonishingly patient and took the time to explain the history and some of the more well-received fragrances in the store. She also took the time to understand what my preferences were and showed me a series of fragrances in which, I narrowed it down to 2. I did not buy anything during my first visit but lingered on the 2 fragrance swabs I brought back to the hotel room, where the scents and undertones finally manage to grab my attention (for most part of the night). The next day, I finally decided on Ithaque (between Inverness which I also liked). I hiked over an hour back to store, without looking at the address but using only my sense of direction and the scent leading me forward. I'm use it everyday now.
