Olimpia Zagnoli
“With the first breath of fragrance, Cap Camarat instantly transported me into an ambiance of intimate, warm femininity at the height of a scorching summer. I shut my eyes and was greeted with a myriad of scenes. Slipping into a dry swimsuit in a wooden beach cabin, hiding from the crowds, sun cream and straw hats, feet sinking into sand, voices clamouring from the distance… I envisioned the sea as a gigantic sheet, its colours shifting to suit the light… Blue turned to silvery, orange, pink and yellow, constantly surprising the eye. Drawing was one way to capture such a moment.”
Encompassing multiple disciplines (from kinetic sculpture to neon design, video and ceramics), Olimpia Zagnoli is an illustrator and artist based in Milan. Her rounded lines, often celebrating eternal femininity, espouse a refreshing, striking pop art style, enlivened by vivid, vibrant colours. In addition to galleries and museum exhibitions, her creations have appeared in major international magazines, children’s books and posters, as well as on a variety of other printed material.
